As the Archer team roll into a new season and a new incarnation as a detective agency (complete with Charlie's Angels-style bumps), the drinking erudition and abandon continues apace. In an episode called "The Handoff" (excellent, detailed breakdown on AV Club-whose episode guides (this one from William Hughes) are invaluable for the Archer completist) a movie star of a certain age called Veronica Deane stops by the agency, looking for help recovering a missing disc, and with the same kind of deliberate hesitancy of Mary Astor laying on the helpless victim routine a little thick for Humphrey Bogart in "The Maltese Falcon". Archer-always the perfect gentleman--offers her a cocktail to calm her nerves:
VERONICA DEANE: At any rate, um whatever these people were, they stole, um my goodness, look at me, I’m shaking like a leaf.
ARCHER: Would you care for a drink?
LANA: Archer, it’s barely nine o—
VERONICA DEANE: Cutting her off) Corpse Reviver #2, please, but if you don’t have real absinthe, I’ll have a double sidecar, French.
MALLORY: Oh, that sounds good, I’ll have—
ARCHER: (Cutting her off, shoutingly) There’s not enough!
