Above, Pernod Ricard's Cocktail Ninja Simon Ford with a copy of "The Ambassadors", gamely going along with a photo project I've been working on for a couple years now. I'm trying to to get all the brand ambassadors I come across to pose with the Henry James book. (Side project: actually finish the book.) Ford's got a pleasing combination of heavy-duty cocktail erudition coupled with an insolent, even slightly punk irreverence. Sort of a smart-ass schoolboy who skips class, but aces the test anyway. And a great laugh, as you'll see at the end of this Tom Collins how-to.
