In my mind this is really a four-part proposition.

Step one: At home, recovering, eat sandwich of your choice, roast turkey perhaps, with chips (or 'crisps' or whatever you want to call them) and a bottle of ale.

Step two: Head to bar and order short gin and tonic.

Step three: Proceed from there, fortified for another night of drinking.

Step four: Repeat.
